Lesson: Ledger line notes, treble staff

Instructions:

Ledger lines are short horizontal lines used to extend the range of the staff.  We use the phrase "line above" or "line below" to refer to the first ledger line away from the staff. The example above shows the note names for up to 3 lines above and below the treble staff.

The following lesson presents 20 notes on ledger lines in random order. Name each note by continuing the strategy shown in lessons 1 and 2. Start with the lowest staff line (E) if the note appears on a line. Start with the lowest staff space (D) if the note appears on a space. It is recommended that you do it this way to reinforce knowing the alphabet in skips as it relates to the staff.
